(project).  This letter is to express appreciation to you and (company) for previous nondiscrimitory building
practices and to request that you continue those practices.

Please be assured, your open building practices help preserve open and fair competition in construction. When
construction users practice competitive bidding, all contractors have an opportunity for work, including those 
employees who choose not to belong to organized labor.  Associated Builders and Contractors(ABC) represents
23,000 member firms, most of which are Merit(open) shop contractors.

(ABC Member Company on the project) is a long time member of Associated Builders and Contractors and is committed
to safety, employee training, and employee benefits.  ABC and members like (ABC Member Company on the project)
are not anti-union but pro-merit shop, where employees are compensated based on performance, ability, and skill 
levels.

Your projects, like the vast majority of construction projects in Indiana, can be completed using the best
contractors for the job.  Including union and merit shop contractors alike.  By limited participation based on
labor affiliation, owners drive up the cost of construction and discriminate against more than 2/3rds of workers
in Indiana who choose not to belong to a union.

We hope(company) will continue to work with all qualified contractors, union and Merit Shop, who successfully
bid any future projects.
